The chaura chauri movement is a Non-cooperation movement where a large group of protestors clased with police who opened fire on 5th february 1992, at chauri chaura on Gorakhpur district of the united province(modern Uttar Pradesh) in British India inorder to protest against high and unusual meat prices but their protest was disrupted by local police officers which resulting in the deaths of 22 policeman
