¬ Definition- The process to separate the coloured components of a mixture is called chromatography.

¬ Principle- 1. The components should be coloured.

2. These coloured solutes should be soluble in the same solvent.

3. One of the components should be more soluble in water.

¬ Applications- 1. Separating pigments from their natural colours.

2. Separating drugs from blood.
