  • The process by which blood changes from a liquid to solid is called coagulation.

  • When the blood flows out, the platelets release an enzyme called Thrombokinase

  • It acts on another substance present in the blood called Pro-Thrombin converting into Thrombin

  •  \:  { \boxed{ \sf{Prothrombin \: { \to} \: Thrombin}}}

  • Thrombin acts on another substance called Fibrinogen that is present in dissolved state converting into insoluble fibrin

  •  \: {\sf{Fibrinogen \: { \to} \:Fibrin }}

  • The blood cells entangle in the fibrin fibers forming the clot.The fibrin fibers are attached to the edges of wound and pull them together.
