Hello

The initial milk of mother is very rich in antibodies and is called colotrum.
The doctors recommend the breast feeding during initial few months because colotrum provides protection against diseases to new born babies as it is rich in antibodies IGA.

Colostrum is the milk produced in mammary glands during later stage of pregnancy and during first few days after giving birth to newly born child.
Colostrum is very useful for the baby :-
Colostrum provides the immunity to baby and protects the baby against various disease causing microbes.

Colostrum is very essential for the new born baby because of it's laxative effects and helps the baby to pass out for first stool ( called meconium).

These two significant roles of the colostrum make it very important for the newly born baby.

Hope it helps.
