Common ion effect states that "concentration of any one of the ions is increased, then, some of the ions in excess should be removed from solution, by combining with the oppositely charged ions.

common ion effect :- If a salt of a weak acid is added to a solution of the acid itself, the dissociation of the acid is diminished further.for example :- HCl + NH4OH => NH4Cl + H2O
