data type is the set of quantities which belong together and are treated similarly. It is a name given to similar quantities. there are three types of data types
1. built in it includes integer character float double and void
2. user defined includes structure union classm enumeration
3.derived includes array function and pointer
well it is actually a classification of data like we cannot use decimal numbers in intergers for different data specific names are aligned in it
