Answer,

๏ MENDELEEV'S PERIODIC LAW!

• It is based on atomic masses of elements.

• It has some anomalies and defects.

• It doesn't explain the cause of similarities of properties of the elements in a group.

• It doesn't explain the cause of periodicity in the properties of elements.

• It does not explain the cause of repeatition of properties of elements after 2 , 8 , 18 and 32 elements.

๏ MODERN PERIODIC LAW

• It is based upon the atomic numbers of elements.

• It has no anomalies.

• It tells us the cause of similarities in elements placed in the similar group.

• It explains the cause of periodicity in the properties of elements (basis is electronic configuration).

• On the basis of electronic configuration of elements, it tells the cause of repeation of properties of elements after 2 , 8 , 18 and 32 elements.

Thanks!
