what is different between rotation and revolution

Hi
Rotation means an object is moving along its axis .
Revolution means an object is moving around any other object.
For example :Day and night are caused when our earth rotates .And when seasons are changed it is because it do revolutions around the sun and when 1 rotation is completed it completes a day and when a revolution is completed a year is completed
