Dry ether is ether which is devoid of water. it is used in the preparation of Grignard reagent and in Wurtz reaction.

Dry ether is diethyl ether that is entirely free from water. Ether has a tendency to absorb soneamount of moisture from the Atmosphere. Dry ether is obtained by distilling ether over Sodium metal....
