and charcoal is the left out substance you get after burning wood

Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide (CO2). It's called "dry ice" because it does not melt like wet ice.

Charcoal impure form of graphitic carbon obtained as a residue when carbonaceous material is partially burned or heated with limited access of air.
