A continuous conducting path between the terminals of a source of electricity( such as a cell or battery) is called electric circuit.
An electric circuit in which flow of current stops because of an open switch is called an open circuit whereas an electric circuit in which a current flows continously because the switch is closed is called closed electric circuit.
Hope it is helpful.

An electrical circuit is a closed path consisting of a power supply and one or more peripherals connected together by conductive wires.
A closed circuit is one in which current can flow from negative end of the cell through the circuit back to the positive end of the cell.
An open circuit is one in which current cannot flow through the circuit as the circuit is 'open' or not completely connected.
