EMI or electromagnetic induction is the production of induced current in a coil placed in a region where the magnetic field changes with time induced EMF is produced only if there is a relative motion between a magnet and a coil.

The magnetic field may change why the due to change in current through the conductor or due to the relative motion between the coil and conductor

The direction of the induced current is given by the Fleming's right hand rule.

Description. Electromagnetic or magnetic induction is the production of an electromotive force across an electrical conductor in a changing magnetic field. Michael Faraday is generally credited with the discovery of induction in 1831, and James Clerk Maxwell mathematically described it as Faraday's law of induction
