Whenever there is change of magnetic flux linked with a circuit,an emf is induced in the circuit .this phenomenon is called electromagnetic induction .the emf so developed is called induced emf and the current so generated (if circuit is closed) is called induced current.
direction of induced current is determined with the help of Fleming's right hand rule or lenz law.

According to the theory of Magnetism,the magnet consists of magnetic flux on it which when it gets charged gets converted into electro magnet then produces an inductive effect which means it gets attracted to other Electro Magnetic field.
