. Male gametes of Plasmodium show lashing movements like flagella and get separated from the cytoplasm of microgametocyte. This process iscalled exflagellation and resultant products are called Male (or) Microgametes. It occurs in the lumen of crop of female Anopheles.

Exflagellation literally means a process in which a cilium or a flagellum is shed off by the bacteria.
