An acid that is found in fats & oils is fatty acid


Fatty acids are mainly used in the production of soap, both for cosmetic purposes and, in the case of metallic soaps, as lubricants. Fatty acids are also converted, via their methyl esters, to fatty alcohols and fatty amines, which are precursors to surfactants, detergents, and lubricants

Fatty acids serve as energy for the muscles, heart, and other organs as building blocks for cell membranes and as energy storage for the body.

Different uses are:

i)oxygen transport throughout the body

ii)providing energy (when glucose, a form of sugar, is not available)

iii)development of strong tissues and organs

iv)brain functioning

v)lowering cholesterol and reducing risk of heart disease

vi)healthy looking skin

vii)immune system health
