What is friction?
What is atmospheric pressure?
Describe any four applications of pressure.
please answer this question
Answers
Answer:
1)The resistance that one surface or object encounters when moving over another.
2) It is the force exerted on a surface by the air above it as gravity pulls it to Earth.
3)•Sucking a drink through a straw - fluid flows because of pressure difference.
•Bullet fired from a gun is driven by gas pressure.
•Aircraft fly because of the air pressure on the wings.
•Air pressure in car tire supports the weight of the car.
1. What is Friction?
Answer:
Sir Isaac Newton is known as the father of physics.
Friction is the heat produced between two bodies when they are constantly in contact with each other.
2. What is Atmospheric pressure?
Answer:
Atmospheric Pressure is defined as the force exerted by the atmosphere on the unit area of the surface of the Earth.
3. Describe any four applications of pressure?
Answer:
- Due to the pressure of the atmosphere, ink rises in the tube of the fountain pen.
- The lizards also use this principle when they move it has suction pads below its feet with help it to stick on the world easily.
- Astronauts have to wear specially designed pressurise to to protect themselves from adverse effects of low pressure prevailing at high altitudes are space.
- We can drink liquids like shakes, soft drinks and juices by using a straw because of atmospheric pressure . When the air from the straw is sucked it results in low pressure inside it and the atmospheric pressure on the outside forces the liquid up in the straw a dropper also works on the same mechanism.
Some More Important Points:-
Of application of Atmospheric pressure
- Sometimes mountaineers suffer nose bleeding at higher altitude. This is because at higher altitude the atmospheric pressure is less but the pressure of the blood remains the same due to the pressure difference the blood oozes of the nose.
- When the piston of a syringe is pulled out the avaiable volume inside it increases this result in low pressure inside the syringe dine out side.
Thus the atmospheric pressure forces the liquid to enter the syringe.
