What is frictional force? What are it's advantages?

friction is a force which  resist the relative motion of the solid surface, layers of fluid, and materials sliding against each other.
Advantages:-
*Due to friction we can walk easily on the road or floor rather then slipping and falling down.
*shoes of sports person uses friction which allows them for the perfect grip with ground.
*due to friction we can write and pick anything.
*due to friction only the life on the earth is preserved from being destroyed by any meteorite as the meteor itself burn in the atmosphere due to friction.
*Friction saves our life as it is also very useful in braking system of vehicles.
