Gold leaf electroscope.
It is a device which detect and measure the charge. It is based on the principal that like object repel each other and unlike charge attract each other so that charge can pass using conductor.
Construction-:
It consists of a bass rod fitted in the glass jar through a rubber stopper.
A brass disc is present at the top of the brass rod.
The lower end of the brass rod that lies inside the beaker has two thin gold leaves hanging parallel to each other.
The lower inner sides of the glass jar is fitted with metal foil which increases the sensitivity of the electroscope.
