in 1848 Thomas Graham gave a law named Thomas law of diffusing and he said that the rate of effusion or diffusion is inversely proportional to the square root of mass of its particles the formula is
Rate1/rate2= √m2/m1
where rate 1 is the rate of effusion for first gas and rate2 is for second gas.
m1 is the molar mass of gas 1
M2 is the molar mass of gas 2
