In 1965 the government of India under mrs. Indira Gandhi decided to take a major step in the agricultural production. Dr. M. S. Swaminathan with the help of Dr. Norman Borlaug brought a revolution in India through which the country became self sufficient in the production of wheat and paddy which eventually led to the food security of the country.
