The Hit and Trial method is useful for balancing simple chemical equations and consists in coming up the number of atoms of each element on both sides and trying to equalize them.

when we balance a chemical equation, this method is applied.
for example:
H2+O2 ->H2O
above equation is not balanced.
on the LHS, there are 2 hydrogen and 2 oxygen atoms but on the RHS there are 2 hydrogen but only 1 oxygen atom.
so we will make the no. of oxygen atoms equal by multiplying RHS by smallest no. that is 2.
so equation will be
H2+O2 ->2H2O
now, the hydrogen atoms became unequal, i.e. 2 on LHS, and 4 on RHS.
so in the LHS, we will multiply hydrogen atoms by smallest possible no. that is again 2.
so the equation will be-
2H2+O2 ->2H2O
now the equation is balanced.
this is hit and trial method when we multiply the the LHS or the RHS as per the requirement by the smallest possible no. in order to balance an equation.
hope it helped! plz mark brainliest if it did!
good luck! :)
