Hey There! Indigo revolt rose up in 1859. When the ryots were reluctant to grow indigo in their field, because of the duties imposed. In March 1859, the revolt became more organized when thousands of Ryots in Bengal refused to grow indigo. They attacked the Indigo factories with whatever weapons they had.
