the word says it is the current that got generated upon induction i.e, due to influence of some other system nearby.

Consider an induction coil. When you pass current through that coil, it creates a magnetic field around itself. And now if you place another coil in its magnetic field, it generates a current in the second coil. Remember that relative distance between the coils should change with time then only a current will be induced in the second coil. That means it depends on the rate of change of magnetic field around the second one
