As you know Inertia is accurately defined in Newton's First Law of Motion which states that an object will remain in a state of rest until a force will be applied on it.Usually Inertia means that an object will remain in rest or keep moving unless an external force is applied over it.It's examples are if you will move in a opposite direction when a driver takes a turn if you are sitting in a car or a bus.And a stone rolling down in a slanted surface willn't stop until force of friction stops it.
Hope it'll be helpful : ).

The inability of the body to change the position of rest or of uniform motion by itself without the application of external force is called inertia . For example :- Tightening of seat belts in a car when it stops quickly .
