\huge\mathtt\red{Lactation}

\longrightarrow Mammary glands of female undergo differentiation and start producing milk at the end of pregnancy. This is called lactation .

\longrightarrow This helps the mother in feeding the newborn.

\longrightarrow The milk that comes out of the mammary glands during initial days of lactation is called colostrum.

\longrightarrow It contains several antibodies (I A) and nutrients (like calcium, fats, lactose) for the baby. It provides passive immunity to the baby.

\longrightarrow Thus, breast-feeding is recommended by doctors for bringing up a healthy baby.
