The lymph is formed when the interstitial fluid (the fluid which lies in the interstices of all body tissues)[1] is collected through lymph capillaries. Interstitial fluid is fluid which has leaked from the blood circulation and contains blood cells and proteins which are essential components of blood.

Lymph is a tissue fluid, like blood contain plasma, proteins and blood cells which escapes into intercellular spaces.
Lymph is colorless and contains less protein than plasma.
