Metaphor - this means direct description and Simile- is when u use like or as

vijaymirpuri: While both similes and metaphors are used to make comparisons, the difference between similes and metaphors comes down to a word. Similes use the words like or as to compare things—“Life is like a box of chocolates.” In contrast, metaphors directly state a comparison—“Love is a battlefield.”
radhikasri: tq for ur big effort
vijaymirpuri: thank me please
radhikasri: thank u thanku
vijaymirpuri: noo i mean at my profile
radhikasri: hiiii

Heya,

METAPHOR:-
A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that isn't literally true, but helps explain an idea or make a comparison.

Example: All the world's a stage and all the man and woman merely players

SIMILE:-
A smile is a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid.

Example: As brave as lion.

Hope it helps...
