Mean proportionals= 2nd & 3rd proportionals

So, let the mean proportionals be x,

Now,

0.16/x=x/0.01

Or, x^2 =0.0016

Or, x=0.04

Hence the mean proportionals are 0.04.

Hope it helps

Let their mean proportion be x.

⇒ 0.16 : x :: x : 0.01

⇒ x * x = 0.01 * 0.16

⇒ x^2 = 0.0016

⇒ x = √0.0016

⇒ x = 0.04.

Therefore, mean proportion of 0.16 and 0.01 = 0.04.

Hope it helps!
