Definition: "The change in Gibbs free energy is equal to the change in enthalpy minus the product of temperature and entropy change of the system."
- At a constant temperature and pressure, the maximum amount work that a thermodynamic system can do is known as Gibbs energy
- Gibbs free energy is a state function.
- Gibbs free energy is independent of the path i.e. it does not depend on the path.
