an electric circuit is the closed path of electric current.
in a simple electric circuit a cell or battery is used to create a potential difference across the system and thus ensure the continuous flow of charges through it.

Electric circuit is the closed path of an electric current.

EXPLANATION:

In other words, an electric circuit allows the electric current to pass through it without breaking the current flow at any time.

In an electric circuit, to maintain continuous flow of charge from Point A to Point B, a battery or cell is made use of. This battery or cell creates a "potential difference" across the circuit and so the charge flows in a continuous manner.

The 'SI' unit of charge is Coulomb and the 'ampere' is the 'SI unit' of current. The relation between ampere and coulomb is that 1 C of charge flows through a current of '1 ampere in 1 second'. So, charge Q equals to the product of current I and time t. Q=It
