Foreign Policy refers to a policy that regulates a particular country’s relations with other countries and people in the international arena. It is the sum total of principles, interests and objectives which a country formulates in conducting its relations with other countries. The principles refer to the code of conduct that are considered necessary in themselves such as adherence to treaties and non- interference in the internal affairs of other countries. The art of conducting the foreign affairs of a country lies in finding out what works best for the country. It may convey international goodwill, peace and freedom and also earnestly mean what it says but the fact is, a government functions for the well-being of its country and cannot act in a manner, which may affect the interests of the country, in the short term or long term.
