Answer-

Gene Interaction-

• It is the case when two or more different genes influence the outcome of a single trait.

• Production of the particular phenotypic characters comes from the interaction between allelic or nonallelic genes of the same genotype.

Gene interaction is of two types

1. Allelic Interaction

  • Incomplete Dominance
  • Co-dominance
  • Pleiotropy

2. Non Allelic Interaction

  • Complementary Gene
  • Epistasis

Answer-

Gene Interaction occurs because-

For a given locus within the population there may be more than two alleles.

It may happen that Dominance of one allele on other may not fulfilled.

• On the interaction of two or more genes the expression of a trait may be dependent.

• A single trait trait may be affected by the two or more genes.
