the development of an organism from an ovum without fertilization is called parthenogenesis.the organisms produced by this process are generally haploid.it is common in wide variety of invertebrates like ants,bees and wasps.in plants it can be observed in chara,spirogyra,purple meadowrue etc.it can be natural as well as artificial

Parthogensis(Par-thi-noh-jen-i-sis)is a kind of reproduction from an ovum without involovment of fertilization process.This can happen in some invertebrates.
