reproduction is a process in which a new individual organism reproduce from parent organism through different type of reproduction process ...
reproduction is two types :
I) Asexual reproduction
ll) sexual reproduction.
I Asexual reproduction :this process is very common in unicellular organism and is said to be the simplest type of reproduction such a binary fission in amoeba budding in hydra spore formation in rhizopus fungus and vegetative propagation in flowering plants like rose etc.
characteristic of Asexual Reproduction are :
•it is a repeat mode of multiplication
•cell division takes place through either mitotically or amitotically
•the new individuals produced after cell division are genetically identical art Van to their parents
•a single parent is involved that is opposite sexes are not involved
•it does not involve the fusion of gametes
II) sexual reproduction :this method is common in multicellular organism having different male and female individuals .it involves fusion of gametes produced by both the parents e. g. in humans, dogs ,cats ,fishes, frogs etc .
characteristics of sexual reproduction are :
•it is not a repeat mode of multiplication .
•cell division involves miosis at some stages ,especially during gamete formation .
•the new individuals produced after cell division exhibit variation .
•fusion of male gamete with the female gamete (sex cells) takes place.
