the continuation of the spinal cord within the skull, forming the lowest part of the brainstem and containing control centres for the heart and lungs.

It is the lower part of the brain. It inclose the fourth ventricle.It is a continuation of spinal cord and it is triangular in shape.The injury in medulla oblangata leads to death.

1.It controls some vital reflex action Centre.

2.Control involuntary actions like respiratory Centre ,Cardiac Centre ,reflex centre of coughing, sneezing ,vomiting ,urination and ejection.

3.It regulate blood vessel diameter to control blood pressure that is vasomotor Centre.

4. It controls the activities of the internal organs that is peristaltic movement of canal.
