Meristematic Tissue:-

Meristematic tissue consist of actively dividing cells and is present in the growing regions of the plant .The cells Can be round, or oval ,polygon or rectangular but there are a few things they having common .They are closely without intercellular spaces, have thin and cellulose walls ,dense cytoplasm and prominent nuclei .

The meristematic tissues are found in the growing regions of the plant like tips of the root,stem and branches

They are of three types:::::

1. Apical meristematic tissues :: They are present in the tips of the stems and roots and helps in the growth of roots and stem

2. Lateral meristematic tissues :: They are present in the sides of the stems and roots and helps to increase the girth of them

3. Intercalary meristematic tissues :: They are present at the base of the leaves and internodes and helps in the growth of the parts
