Militant nationalism means that when the people of a country believe that what their country is doing is right while id someone objects they are considered anti national.Militant nationalism is a kind of obsession in a few people for their country. During British rule the British used this word for the freedom fighters who were struggling for independence. The poor Indians who exibited nationalism were considered as militants and were given severe punishments. Finally we got independence in 15 th August 1947.

Militant nationalism during British rule was carried out by some brave men to liberate the country. These patriots took to locally made arms, looted arms that were in the possession of the colonialists and were supplied arms and ammunition by people who were aligned to them. The arms were used to kill, maim and destroy the British and anyone or anything that represented them.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad and Khudiram Bose were a few of these great men who are revered even today.
