According to my understanding of this question,there are two answers for this: one as it is (for the majority) and the other as it should be.
✳️➡️Nationalism for india is like for the others: love for the motherland. That's all. This is the concept formulated and sought to be propagated by our founding fathers. It does not include anything that is not uniform in India; for example,religion,region and language. Also,it was broad and strived for the philosophy of the world being a family (?).
For the majority, too, this is what nationalism stands for. However, lunatics have equated land with a particular marker- as if there ever was one uniform factor in the indian subcontinent.
