Occupational structure refers to the distribution of occupation according to skill level, economic function or social status. Occupations are classified into three groups-
a) Primary Sector- They are those occupations related to nature. These include animal husbandry, farming , mining, forestry, fishing, etc.
b) Secondary Sector- They transform natural products to finished products.These include manufacturing industry, construction work, etc.
c) Tertiary Sector- This sector provides service to people. They include transport, communication, commerce, administration and other services.
