What is octet? Why is it inactive?​

Answer:

An atom with an octet is not reactive because it has a filled outer shell of electrons. The atom doesn't need to either gain electrons (for example Cl who has 7 electrons in its outer shell tends to gain an electron when reacting to become Cl^-1.
