what is Panchayati Raj? What is its importance?

Panchayat is a meeting arranged in a village with all the villagers and head if the village who is called the panchayat raj . The importance of keeping this is they can solve their problems and also the village problems and solve them.

In India the Panchayati Raj Now functions as a system of governments in which Gram Panchayat are the basic unit of local administration .The system has three level Gram Panchayat( village level) Mandal Parishad and block Samiti or Panchayat Samiti . the duty of the Panchayat Samiti includes coordinating projects and funding between the district and village level supporting current the development project.
