pH scale is a scale generally used to measure how acidic or alkaline a solution is.there are various colours known as indicators like green meaning the solution is neutral,violet meaning its alkaline and red meaning its acidic.

a pH scale is a scale used to measure how acidic or basic a substance is...it is available in strips and is basically used for lab purposes
in order to test a substance..put a sample of that substance on the pH strip
...........................
it is marked on a scale of 14 ..
substances that have a pH value greater than 7 is called basic in nature
examples
milk of magnesia
(all bases have hydroxyl ions OH- )etc.
and substances which have a value of less than 7 on the pH scale are called acidic substances..
EXAMPLES
hydrochloric acid
sulphuric acid
etc
