Appeasement in an international context is a diplomatic policy of making political or material concessions to an aggressive power in order to avoid conflict.

Great Britain, France and the United States had the power and resources to check the aggressive actions of Germany, Italy and Japan during the 1930s but they failed to do so on account of the policy of appeasement

Hope it helps you buddy ☺
