Hardness of water is marked by the presence of salts of Calcium and Magnesium metals like their sulphides , carbonated , bicarbonates , etc.
However, some salts can easily be removed out from the hard water to make it soft by simple methods like boiling.
However, when the salts cannot be removed out of the hard water to make it solft water by simple methods like distillation and boiling , then this is known as permanent hardness of water.
