e.g. listen, read, write, speak, etc .

A verb in English is used in four ways --

  1. Base Form : speak
  2. Past Tense Form : spoke
  3. Present Participle : speaking
  4. Past Participle : spoken

Present Participle :- It is formed by adding '-ing' addition to the base form of the verb .

Examples - smile:smiling

- listen : listening

Past Participle :- It is formed by adding

'-ed, -d, -t, -en, -n' addition to the base form of the verb or by making a spelling change.

Examples - Abide : Abode

- Become : Become
