the pythogorous theorem says that In a right angle triangle the sum of squares of the perpendicular and base is equal to the square of hypotaneous.

let, perpendicular = p
base =b and hypotaneous=h
then according to the theorem,
h^2=p^2+b^2

Note:- this theorem is only applicable for right angle triangle
