A quantum of energy can be assumed of as a little packet of energy. Change that happens to the atoms when little packets of energy are given out or taken in. The equation used to calculate the value of quantum of energy is E=hf where E is energy in joules, h is Planck’s constant and f means the frequency that is calculated in hertz. There is the dual nature of light as light exists both as wave and particle.
