A red blood cells count in a blood test that your doctor is uses to find out how many blood cells (RBC) you have it also known as an erythrocyte count the test is important because RBC contain hemoglobin which carise oxygen in your body tissues The number of RBC you can effect how much oxygen your tissues risive .Your tissues need oxygen to function
If your RBC count is too high or too low you could exprience symptoms and complication
I hope this is helpful

                                RED BLOOD CORPUSCLES

                                                 (R.B.C)

⇒ It is also known as erythrocytes.

⇒ R.B.Cs of mammals are non-nucleated except camel.

Salamander has largest R.B.Cs, about 80 µ m in diameter.

Musk dear has the smallest R.B.Cs, about 1.5 µ m.

⇒ It is Biconcave in shape.

⇒ Life span in man is 120 days and number is 5000000/ cu mm.

Bone marrow is the main site for formation of R.B.C.

Haemoglobin (Hb) is filled in R.B.C, which gives red color to it and act as vasculatory or respiratory pigment.

⇒ Amount of Haemoglobin is measured or calculated by Shali's haemometer.

⇒ In male (15-16 gm%), female (13-14 gm%) and in child (16.5 gm%) haemoglobin is present.

⇒ If Hb percentage falls anaemia arises.

                        FUNCTIONS OF R.B.Cs

⇒ Haemoglobin of R.B.Cs readily combines with oxygen to form oxyhaemoglobin.

⇒ In the tissues , oxyhaemoglobin readily gives up its oxygen.

⇒ R.B.Cs transport CO₂

⇒ CO₂ combines with potassium carbonates of R.B.Cs to form potassium bicarbonate.
