A reflex action is an involuntary process in which automatic response is provided to the stimulus.

Coughing, sneezing, blinking the eyes are the examples of the reflex action.

This action is made possible by the neural pathways which are called as reflex arcs.

It is actually a mechanism to detect signal which is the input and respond to it by the action which is the output.
