respiration is the process of acquiring oxygen from outside the body and to use it in the process of breakdown of food sources for cellular needs

it is an exothermic reaction as release of energy takes place in this process

Resiration is the process which involves intake of oxygen and release of carbon dioxide by the organism.

It is called exothermic reaction becuse during this process large amount of heat is released. Glucose is broken down with the help of oxygen in the cells to produce energy

C6h12o6 + 6o2 gives 6co2 + 6h20 + energy.
